Countries and Cities Covered

Global Property Guide provides real estate market data for over 80 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean, covering more than 400 cities globally. We are actively expanding our coverage and continuously improve data quality and historical depth. Our aim is to deliver structured, comparable, and regularly updated information for over 100 countries worldwide.

Scope of Data

We collect, verify, and maintain datasets in the following areas:

Rent Price Index (by Country)

Our national rent indices track changes in rental prices across 50+ countries. These indices are updated quarterly and provide both short- and long-term trend data. The indices are compiled using listings from reputable local portals and reflect national-level rent movements for standard-sized apartments.

House Price Index (by Country)

We publish quarterly house price indices sourced from government statistical offices, central banks, and national property registries. Where official indices are not available, we compile data from credible financial institutions and local analysts. The indices cover over 60 countries and provide 1-, 5-, 10-, and 15-year price change metrics (both nominal and inflation-adjusted).

Median Rent Prices (by City)

Our city-level median rent prices focus on 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments in central locations. Prices are collected from leading local property portals, and we strive to reflect up-to-date market conditions with quarterly updates.

Median Property Prices (by City)

These figures represent the median asking prices for mid-market apartments in capital cities and major urban centers. We focus on condominiums, apartments, and townhouses, with prices typically expressed per unit. Updated quarterly.

Square Meter Prices (by City)

We provide average asking prices per square meter (or square foot) for properties in over 300 cities. These prices are typically sourced from property listings and aggregated quarterly. They help users understand regional affordability and cross-market comparisons.

Rental Yields (by Country and City)

Rental yield analysis is a core part of GPG’s offering. We calculate gross rental yields using local median rent and purchase prices, typically for 1- and 2-bedroom apartments in key urban areas. Data is updated every six months and represents a snapshot of expected returns from a buy-to-let investment.

Long-Term Price Change Data (1–15 Years)

For most countries, we offer historical price change metrics over 1, 5, 10, and 15 years, helping investors assess long-term market performance. These are available in both nominal and real (inflation-adjusted) terms.

Mortgage Rates

We maintain quarterly updates on average mortgage interest rates across 60+ countries. Rates are sourced from central banks, commercial lenders, and financial publications, and reflect the typical borrowing environment for residential homebuyers.

Property-Related Taxes and Costs

We provide estimates of property purchase and sale transaction costs (so-called "roundtrip costs"), including legal fees, stamp duties, agent commissions, and notarial charges. This data is compiled annually from sources such as KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, and local legal experts.

Quarterly Market Reports & Trackers

Each quarter, GPG publishes regional and global overviews summarizing key movements in house prices, rental yields, and mortgage trends. These reports highlight notable increases or declines, macroeconomic drivers, and investor-relevant developments.

Data Sources and Methodology

We rely on a network of verified public and private sources, including:
