District 11 is best known for Dam Sen Water Park, a campy yet entertaining amusement complex. The water attractions include slides and a waterfall, and there are also traditional carnival rides like a Ferris wheel and bumper cars. The park has a bird sanctuary, a smattering of oversfized animal statues to take photos of, and a lovely Royal Garden with traditional pavilions, ponds and bonsai plants. People go fishing on Dam Sen Lake in the centre of the complex. Lush gardens and fountains surround the area. Cam Sen Water Park, Ho Chi Minh’s version of Disneyland, is popular to kids and young at heart alike.

Popular to grown-ups is the Phu To Race Course, an Art Deco-styled racetrack with surrounding cafés and food stalls. Many a GI spent hours of their free time here. It was closed by the Communist government in 1975 but reopened to the public in 1989.
