The quaint village of Black Point consists of small cottages, three churches, two grocery stores, a post office, three local restaurants, and a small airstrip.

The waters of nearby Great Guana Cay are noted for their crystal blue clearness. The cay is a popular place for bonefishing and deep sea fishing. The reefs in the region are best explored by snorkeling and diving. The white sand beaches are great for beachcombing or sunbathing.

Attractions in Black Point include the caves on the southern end of Great Guana Island and the Garden of Eden, a collection of driftwood and shells that were arranged into a beautiful garden by a local. There is also Thunderball Grotto in nearby Staniel Cay, a famous snorkeling site used in the James Bond films Thunderball and Never Say Never Again, and in the Tom Hanks film Splash.
