Property sales and leasing rates in prime areas are both up for Jordan this year. There continues to be interest in areas such as Abdoun, Der Ghabar and Um-Othainah.
Apartments in major residential developments have been seeing increased buyer interest in the last few months, due to developers' getting bank financing and improved mortgage facilities' being made available to buyers. Sales are improving, particularly those of larger four-bedroom units. There has also been a slight increase in prices. But despite all these improvements, demand is still rather weak as investors remain cautious.
Reasonably-priced small and mid-sized apartments for rent continue to be in demand.
There is a large supply of office units available, and office rents have been dropping this year, though sales prices have stabilized.
