Anne Hathaway's former bf, convicted property businessman Raffaello Follieri gears up anewAnne Hathaway’s former beau Raffaello Follieri has fulfilled his almost 5-year jail time and has been deported back in his homeland, Italy and would want to start anew.

The former businessman Mr. Follieri, who made a fortune representing and selling the Catholic Church’s pieces of property to interested investors back in 2008, is now ready to move on with the next chapter of his life.

Folliere’s boyish charms convinced even the leaders of the Vatican to represent them but found to have taken advantage of this connection with some leaders of the Catholic Church, who at the time wanted to unload some properties owned by the diocese in some states in the U.S.

“I'm not trying to clear my name,” Mr. Folliere tells ABC News. “I’m just try to go on and live my life.”

Before his arrest, the native from Southern Italy was able to buy and dispose of some properties for the Catholic diocese and had even been re-sold at profit.

He was trusted for his connections with the Vatican. One of the investors, billionaire Ron Burkle invested some $105 million in Mr. Folliere’s company.

However, the then 25-year-old businessman got overwhelmed and made use of some of the company’s money for his own and lived a lavish lifestyle worthy and fit for his former actress-girlfriend’s status back then.

Aside from securing an expensive Manhattan apartment, Mr. Folliere even whisked Ms Hathaway on a private plane for $97,000 just to attend the party of Oscar dela Renta in the Dominican Republic.

“When you are 25 years old and you have a company growing very fast, you get carried away in situation. At the time, my life was pretty good. I had a girl that I love. My business was going well. So I didn't thought, at that point is when, I thought that was the American dream. But it was not so long later that everything fell apart,” he narrates to ABC News.
